Pension Benefit Consultant


In the role as Pension Benefit Consultant, you will be responsible for a range of retirement administration projects. You will serve as the project coordinator, communication liaison with our clients and manage client deliverables.  This position affords an immediate opportunity to apply analytical, problem-solving, communication and technology skills that will contribute to the development of solutions to client issues.

  • Deliver superior, consistent client deliverables, including:
  • Prepare/review retirement benefit calculations
  • Review and process benefits under Qualified Domestic Relations Orders
  • Process non-retirement benefits including death, disability, life insurance, Medicare supplement
  • Review pension benefit commencement packages
  • Engage in day to day contact with participants and clients’ HR departments
  • Prepare executive benefits under nonqualified SERP
  • Prepare government filings for pension plans including Form 8955-SSA

Education / Experience

  • Experience in administration of defined benefit plans, preferably gained in a benefits consulting or third party administration environment
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Solid knowledge of defined contribution and defined benefit plans including experience with retirement plan provisions and processes
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Excel and Word with knowledge of Microsoft Access Database a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong background in mathematics with excellent analytical, problem-solving, research, and data analysis abilities
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle demanding deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and on client teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S. long-term without sponsorship
